We went out with local fishermen in their boats and saw how much work goes into a fish that ends up on the table. No industrial fishing: small boats, skilled hands and respect for the sea.<\/p><h2>Grogue, Cape Verde\u2019s rum<\/h2><p>We also visited producers of <strong>grogue<\/strong>, the traditional spirit made from sugar cane. In many distilleries the cane is still pressed and distilled the old way, in small batches. A piece of culture you can taste.<\/p><h2>Wild, exotic nature<\/h2><p>Between the islands we explored incredibly varied landscapes: green valleys with tropical plants, black volcanic rock and cliffs dropping into the ocean.
