Swimming 10 km without training

From Finale di Pollina to Cefalù

In this unforgettable adventure, my father Gerrit and I swam 10 kilometres in the open sea, from Finale di Pollina to Cefalù. With us were the world record swimmer and long-distance specialist Christof Wandratsch and Cosimo Rinaudo. It was a distance that nobody had ever done before!

The experience was crazy, in the best sense of the word. It showed me how incredible the human body is when we decide to step out of our comfort zone.

The Force of Mind

The thing that amazed me most was not just the physical challenge, but the fundamental role of the mind. Without any specific training for this swim, I managed to complete the distance simply because I really believed I could do it.

This experience reminded me of the importance of training not only the body, but also the mind. Practices such as the Wim Hof Method, which combine breathing, exposure to cold and mental strength, help develop incredible resilience to face challenges like this.
