Planting exotic trees in the countryside

We recently embarked on an exciting journey to transform our garden in Sicily into a lush paradise by planting 400 exotic and tropical trees. This project had been a long-held dream of ours, and we finally decided to make it a reality.

The choice of trees

Following careful research and planning, we have selected a variety of trees, including avocado, pawpaw and other unique species. These trees are not only beautiful, but will also produce delicious fruit that we can enjoy and share. Each tree has been chosen for its ability to thrive in Sicily’s Mediterranean climate, ensuring a vibrant and varied garden.

The planting process

With spades in hand and plenty of enthusiasm, we dug holes, carefully positioned each sapling and made sure it was firmly planted. The process was physically demanding but incredibly rewarding. Seeing each tree in its place was like adding a new chapter to the story of our garden.

The reason why

This project was more than just a landscaping project: it was about reconnecting with nature and contributing to biodiversity. By introducing exotic and tropical species into our garden, we hope to create a space where nature can thrive and surprise us with its beauty and abundance.

We are excited to watch these trees grow and mature over the coming years. They will provide us with shade, fresh fruit and a sense of fulfilment every time we step into our garden. This project is just the beginning of our journey to create a space that reflects our love of nature and sustainable living.

The Future

We have made great progress with our gardening project! So far, we have planted over 400 trees, turning our dream into an ever-greener reality. In addition, we have started a collaboration with the Hotel Kalura in Cefalù, where we are planting trees to make the hotel more sustainable and surrounded by nature.

These efforts not only contribute to biodiversity, but also reflect our commitment to a greener and more flourishing future.
