Description
Our honey is unique. The location alone makes this honey something special: Mount Etna, the most active volcano in Europe. The lava soil allows the production of unique food products that can only be found at the foot of the volcano. Honey is one of the most famous and appreciated, produced thanks to a beekeeping system that has its heart in Zafferana Etnea, where honey is the main source of income. This is why it is also called 'The Gold of the Etna'.
The story: in 1920, in Zafferana Etnea, a humble worker with a special interest in bees and honey decided to dedicate his life to beekeeping. He turned his passion into a profession. This is how the lapari (Sicilian beekeepers) grew up. Honey production was thus not just a hobby, but became a real profession, which is still accessible today through training courses.
