German Championships in Ice Swimming

Zollhaus Open

Every year, the Zollhaus Open – the German Ice Swimming Championships – brings together athletes and swimming enthusiasts in icy waters. At our beloved Landhotel Altes Zollhaus, a historic hotel with a lake in the middle of the forest, we celebrate the beauty of nature around us.

Sport and sustainability

For us, the Zollhaus Open is not just a competition, but also an opportunity to promote important values such as respect for the environment. Here’s what we do to make our event sustainable:

  • Wooden medals: we use recycled wood from our woodland to handcraft the medals for the event
  • Local food: We collaborate with local producers to offer fresh, locally sourced food.
  • No trace in nature: We take pride in leaving each place exactly as we find it, leaving nothing in nature.
